Mike and Mike from Turtle Wax detail how to wax your car to perfection.
One of the biggest questions we get at the Turtle Wax labs is how to wax my car.
1. Make sure your car is completely clean and dry.
2. Make sure that when you wax, the temperature is between 55 and 85 degrees.
3. It is best to wax in the shade--preferably in a garage, out of direct sunlight.
Now we are ready to apply the wax. When using a paste wax, use small overlapping strokes with light pressure. Put about a dollar coin size scoop on the applicator and apply with smooth, even strokes, of about 3-4 pounds of pressure. Apply the wax to about a two foot by two foot section.
In about three to five minutes, the wax will dry to a dull haze. This is your signal to buff it off. We recommend using high quality microfiber towels. Use light pressure; again about 3-5 lbs. of pressure. When you begin to feel a little drag on the towel, it is time to turn it over and go back and buff to a high shine.
